The Commonwealth Governor’s School Application Information
For any questions regarding the CGS application process, please contact your school division’s application liaison listed below. The CGS Regional Office does not implement the application process nor select the students admitted, but does ensure application alignment between divisions and post the applications as a courtesy for the participating school divisions.

Applications open in December, close in January, and applicants receive their decision letter in March.
All division-specific application questions should be directed to the CGS Application Liaison for your school division, or you may reach out with general application questions or programmatic questions to CGS Director, Mrs. Grigsby, via email at jgrigsby@cgsva.org

- Grade Point Average
- Ability Testing
- Achievement Testing – Mathematics
- Achievement Testing – Reading Comprehension
- Teacher Recommendations (4)
- Interview
- Project Portfolio
